To date,  more than 2350 electric bills have been collected in Puerto Peñasco from people who object current electricity rates. Furthermore, the local chamber of commerce ( CANACO ) convention and visitors Bureau ( OCV ) and the City Hall have all expressed their support for the movimiento’s goals.

Following months of construction, the Monumento al Pescado in Puerto Peñasco was finally inagurated on Monday February 17th marking the reopening of Calle 13, where final touches were being made to the pavement. The sailfish statue in Rocky Point, built the goal of offering both the local comunnity and tourists a representative figure of the history and roots of the port, is made out of fiberglass and mounted on a concrete based covered with piñon cantera and river rock. More than two decades from it’s premiere “La señora presidenta”continues on the national Billboard as one of the favorites of all times, and on this occasion will offer in Puerto Peñasco two functions during next Wednesday March 5: the first at 7:00 in the afternoon and the second at 9:30 in the evening. Tickets are now on sale at the DIF offices, located on Avenue Sinaloa and Ruiz Cortinez, and in the House of culture, and have a cost of 350 pesos numbered seats and 250 general  chairs.

If you haven’t heard, near the Reef at Sandy Beach there is a pile of rocks extending about 600 feet into the sea of cortez, construction of this breakwater, wich is the initial part of the development on the cruise ship Home Port.

Over the last two years, residents and tourists have enjoyed whale watching in Rocky Point. Yes, now you could go whale watching on your next weekend vacation in this charming seaside town if you are lucky enough you might get a glimpse of these enormous and magnificent creatures.

The local community group of women ( US, Mexican and beyond ) gets together the 2nd Tuesday of each month to share uncommon common experiences…Shared up with a plate of fun, drinks, local information and frequent  fundraising for charitable organizations!
