What to Pack for Your Vacation
Packing for your Mexican vacation can be an adventure in itself. Not knowing what to expect can be disastrous at worst or mildly annoying at the very least. We suggest that, apart from your cell phones, cameras, and possibly a laptop, you leave the expensive stuff at home. The weather down here is pretty much warm and sunny throughout most of the year, so summer clothing will suffice, but you may want to bring a jacket for cooler evenings and nights. Flip-flops and/or sneakers are the only shoes you will need, but dancing shoes are an option for a fun-filled night out on the town!

Navigating the financial waters can be tricky as well, but if you just follow these simple tips, all will be well. ATM’s are great places for exchanging dollars for pesos, and their rates are usually better than any place else. You can also take advantage of Exchange Centers for quick and easy money exchanges. Americans are used to using credit or debit cards everywhere they go, but in Rocky Point, many places don’t accept cards, and the ones that do may charge you more for the convenience. Tipping is not just acceptable, it is expected, with 10 to 15 percent being the common percentage. The local tax rate is 16 percent.
