Winter Fun by the Ocean
Due to the mild winter weather, Rocky Point remains a vibrant beach town no matter what time of year you choose to take a Rocky Point vacation! Spend your days lounging on the sandy shores, or rent a boat tour to explore some of the sea life up close! This is also the best time of year to enjoy whale watching, as whales migrate from the frigid waters of Alaska to flock to the Sea of Cortez for their mating season. If you keep your distance and are patient, you will be rewarded with the experience of a lifetime!
Holiday Activities
In addition to fun by the sea, there are holiday activities to enjoy in town. If you are visiting in December, be sure to attend the annual Cholla Bay Christmas Light Parade. The parade starts at the clubhouse at Cholla Bay and heads through the streets. You can even decorate your car or golf cart and participate in the parade! This is a fun way to rub elbows with the locals and find out about the best hidden gems in town!
Arts and Culture
If the weather does get gloomy, shopping is a great go to! Cholla Mall and Old Port are great places to head inside and find some unique items to take back home. Find everything here from delicate, handmade jewelry pieces to home goods and even find a fun souvenir! If you are interested in goods from local artisans, be sure to visit the Mermaid Market. It’s held in the center of town on the first and third Saturdays of each month!
