Rocky Point, Mexico, is a popular tourist destination, known for its beautiful beaches and its welcoming hospitality. It is also becoming a hot spot for fun, challenging, and breathtaking golf courses. The Links Golf Course at the Las Palomas resort is certainly adding to that reputation. This beautiful golf course merges with the natural landscape and scenery of the land to combine amazing views with challenging and fun golf play. When you play a round of Rocky Point golf at The Links, it will definitely be a round to remember!

Amazing Rocky Point Golf Courses Design

The course was designed by architects Forrest Richardson and Arthur Jack Snyder, who set out to create not just another golf course, but an overall experience. Links-style golf is an homage to the origins of the sport, when the layout of the course was truly married to the lay of the land. Richardson and Snyder studied the land at the Las Palomas resort to find the perfect area to place their golf course and achieve this vision. In the end, they designed a par-72 championship golf course that offers the full link-style playing experience.

Challenging Play

Those who have played golf alongside the ocean before know that the biggest obstacle of this location is the wind. The Links at Las Palomas overlooks the Sea of Cortez, which makes for amazing ocean views, but also forces you to analyze each and every shot. Natural sand dunes and salt water lagoons are found throughout the course, creating both bunkers and water hazards on nearly every turn. Although the layout challenges your play by forcing you to make creative shots, it is also designed so that players of all skills levels can play a round and enjoy themselves. Also, the layout changes often, so you will play The Links several times over and have a new experience each round.

Unique Experience Playing Rocky Point Golf

Perhaps the signature of this course is the 19th hole. This “extra” tee was put in by the designers as an ode to a golf tradition dating back to the 1930’s and as a bonus challenge to the most ambitious players. Sitting just below the clubhouse, this downhill hole may look easy from the tee, but is often described as devilish to play. Luckily, the amenities at the Las Palomas resort are a great place to unwind after the round, or you can hit up the practice greens and driving ranges to perfect your game before or after you play. Whether playing a round on the green, or enjoying the amenities of the surrounding resort, making The Links at Las Palomas part of your Rocky Point Golf vacation is a must!
