Following months of construction, the Monumento al Pescado in Puerto Peñasco was finally inagurated on Monday February 17th marking the reopening of Calle 13, where final touches were being made to the pavement. The sailfish statue in Rocky Point, built the goal of offering both the local comunnity and tourists a representative figure of the history and roots of the port, is made out of fiberglass and mounted on a concrete based covered with piñon cantera and river rock.
At the formal inaguration ceremony, with numerous former Mayor in attendence, information was presented on the work done along Calle 12 & 13 as well as the strech of Plutarco Elias Calles.
