One of the best parts of any vacation is the opportunity to taste the regional flavors they are famous for, and many towns and cities have “restaurant weeks” during which the local restaurants offer prixe fixe menus for discounted prices to allow residents and tourists the opportunity to taste the best of the best. Rocky Point has its own version, held in February every year, the Taste of Penasco, and their version includes musical entertainment, a contest for the chefs, raffles, and a get together that occurs in one central location. In 2017, a salsa contest was added to the mix, which made us very happy here at FMI Rentals; we take our salsa seriously!

Free Puerto Penasco Event to the Public

The details about 2018’s Taste of Penasco haven’t been released yet, but we will keep you informed as we hear more. In the past, this Puerto Penasco event has been free to the public and has begun at noon. Held at the Penasco del Sol hotel, which coincidentally, happens to be right down the street from your spacious FMI Rentals vacation getaway, the addition of crafts from the Mermaid Market offers the perfect opportunity for you to get a little souvenir—in between food sampling, of course! The food, the salsas, and the drinks are your main reason for showing up, and we can tell you honestly. Make sure you wear your comfy pants, because you are going to eat a lot!
