Cosmopolitan Lifestyle

Mexico offers an intriguing combination of the old and the new and as you pull up in front of our Sunset Hill property, its low slung profile, crisp white paint, and fantastic location will offer the first of many surprises! Open the dark wood doors to your home for the next few days or so and walk into a sleek and modern décor that continually surprises. Located on Whale Hill, so named for its proximity to the sea and for the ability to watch the whales frolicking in the waters from the glass railed balcony, this home does feature many of the vibrant hues you have come to expect from homes south of the border, but the colors are added in exciting new ways!

Low slung, almost geometric shaped furnishings in the living room stand out against crisp white walls, offering a bold touch of crimson to this space, and yet still managing to provide comfort. Stretch out on the red sofa for a mid-morning nap, sink into the scarlet chairs to surf through channels on the state-of-the-art television built into the walls, and when you feel the need of a delicious margarita to serve as the cherry on a very perfect sundae, the fully equipped kitchen is located just steps away in this open concept floor plan! Custom cabinetry and cool granite countertops frame sleekly modern appliances in stainless steel, and the sink, often placed against a back wall and generally not offering any views, is sunk into the island, facing the living room and the wall of windows that reveal the Sea of Cortez just beyond. Meal prep and after dinner chores seem effortless when facing these views, so go ahead and use this space for more than making margaritas if you choose! Just beyond the kitchen, lying behind a wall built with geometric cut outs, lies a full bar, posed provocatively against an accent wall sheathed in more of that vibrant hue, a sultry and dramatic crimson red. Belly up to the bar on a hot summer’s day and drink up the refreshing beverages you have stored here; an electrical outlet gives the blender a place of honor in this sweet spot!

As we continue the tour to bedrooms, all painted a creamy white, the neutral décor allows for deep and uninterrupted sleep, while the creature comforts ensure you feel pampered when awakening in these spaces each morning. Offering a variety of beds, including two with cushioned leather headboards (and a leather chaise perched at the end of one bed, offering the perfect place to swoon!) for added comfort and style, these rooms may be your favorite spaces in a home filled with sophistication, style, and of course, comfortable luxuries. The mirrored niche that serves as a headboard in yet another of the bedrooms gives the room an extra-spacious feel. Bathrooms with vessel sinks sitting atop floating vanities in dark wood and walk in showers with tiled benches ensure the spoiling continues, and because there are more bathrooms than bedrooms, morning traffic jams that could occur in a place where 8 people are traveling together, are limited.

That Balcony, Though

As we have given you a clear picture of the surprises waiting inside our Sunset Hill home, it is now time to open those sliding glass doors and step outside into a space that will touch your soul. Pure white stucco is the backdrop of the pergola covered balcony and glass railings are out the forefront, ensuring that those views are not interrupted. The blue waters of the Sea of Cortez on sunny days is a sight to behold from this spot and when the skies turn stormy and the waters get angry, you will feel safe and secure watching the dramatic show from your seat on the balcony. A built-in charcoal grill is where you will prepare your catch of the day (fishing charters are fun and are generally very fruitful!), and as you sit at the provided table, hungrily devouring the freshly grilled dinner paired with a deliciously aged tequila purchased earlier at the Tequila Factory, the setting sun will provide the finishing touch to another perfect day in paradise!
