In 2009, Rocky Point was lucky enough to be a part of the genesis of the Funkalicious Volleyball Tournament. The first annual tournament welcomed 29 teams, and in 2012, it welcomed 93 teams. This tournament has grown into a huge event and so much more than a volleyball tournament. With so much planned during the tournament, there is so much to enjoy. The tournament is held biannually with a different theme each time and teams are to come up with a creative team name to fit that given theme. No matter what your skill level may be, there is a place for you in this tournament. With a wide range of competitive levels, all are encouraged to compete. Games are held in the 4v4 style with a total number of 6 spots on a given team. At Las Palomas, there are two parties throughout the weekend to keep the action going throughout the tournament. This weekend is a great time of fun and competition. To kick off the weekend right, the first party is going to be hosted at the Phase II pool bar on Friday night. Wrecked at the Reef hosts the Funkalicious post party for all participants. Food and drinks are plentiful with all weekend access to the breakfast burrito bar for only $10 dollars and 2 for 1 drinks during happy hour. Make sure you bring the top of your game because there is over $2000 in sponsored prizes and over $2400 in cash prizes up for grabs.
