Winter in Rocky Point is a beautiful time of year. The beaches are less crowded, but the weather is still warm and sunny. The average temperature in December is around 75 degrees and you can expect the sun to be shining. CEDO Nature Talks
The Center for the Study of Deserts and Oceans holds free nature talks twice a week in both English and Spanish. The nature talks are led by local scientists at the Center who will teach you all about the culture and natural resources of the Sonoran Desert and the Sea of Cortez. The walk will also take you on a tour of the CEDO Field Station. English talks are held every Tuesday at 2 p.m. and every Saturday at 4 p.m. Spanish talks are held Tuesdays at 4 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m. The Nature Talks start at the CEDO institute just outside of downtown Rocky Point.
Mermaids Market
The Mermaids Market is an arts and crafts market held during the winter in downtown Rocky Point. The market is held on the first and third Saturday of each month from October – April from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Shrimp Plaza. The market features local arts, crafts, clothing, gifts and mermaid treasures.
18th Annual Rocky Point Rally
The Rocky Point Rally is known as the Greatest Motorcycle Fiesta South of the Border and is one of the top Rocky Point events in Winter. The annual gathering brings thousands of bikers from around the world to Rocky Point for a weekend of fun. This year’s rally will be held from November 8 – 11. It will feature four days of parades, bike shows, and live music. Many of the events are held at Malecon and in local restaurants and bars.
